West Chambers County Chamber of Commerce
The West Chambers County Chamber of Commerce kicks off each year by honoring those who further the goals of the Chamber at the Annual Awards Banquet. The highlight of the evening recognizes the Person of the Year, selected by the entire membership for his or her contributions to the community. Also recognized are Small Business and Corporate Business of the Year.
The Chamber hosts a Meet the Candidates forum each spring to give voters an opportunity to hear and ask questions of those running for public office.
The Eagle Open is held in April at the beautiful Eagle Pointe Golf Club. Sporting the theme Where Business and Pleasure Meet, this event is an excellent marketing and networking opportunity for our members.
The much-celebrated and highly anticipated Diva Evening is held each August. Shopping and pampering enhance the networking experience as ladies enjoy a night just for them. A chosen few “Diva Darlings” are on hand to dish up incredible ice cream sundaes, but the tiaras, boas, dancing, bingo, auction, and great girl fun are for ladies only.
The Barbers Hill Fall Fest, held in October, promotes West Chambers County as a better place to live and work. The community-oriented day is designed to benefit drug awareness and education in Barbers Hill. It is held in conjunction with the Texans War on Drugs Campaign. Proceeds help fund the local D.A.R.E. Programs, Project Graduation, and Breakfast of Champions. Funds from Fall Fest allowed the West Chambers County Chamber of Commerce to perpetuate a four-year scholarship with the Barbers Hill Homecoming and Scholarship Association that provides $1,200 each year to a graduating senior planning a career in law enforcement, counseling, or related field. Highlighting the festival is the War on Drugs Barbecue Cook-off, pitting local industry and business culinary talents against each other. Additional activities include a Drug Awareness poster contest, Pie Contest and Pie Auction, Fun Run, and a Children’s Carnival sponsored by Barbers Hill Schools.
Chamber members eagerly anticipate and enjoy the annual Holiday Social hosted by a member each December. The event provides business leaders and their spouses an opportunity to relax and reflect on the year’s successes.
Throughout the year, the Chamber hosts ribbon cuttings and participates in grand openings for new businesses or those becoming members of the Chamber. With the dramatic growth our area is experiencing, our Chamber is determined to keep our community strong.
